Do you know what the word is? You might guess any number of low-vibration words like should, just, sorry, or no — which all come from a limiting or judging mindset. But the word that holds us back from consciously perceiving and receiving the true vibration of any situation, person or thing is when we say 'not'.
The law of attraction teaches that when we use the word NOT such as, "I will not get a cold," the energy is actually focused on the word "cold" and therefore, we are attracting the opposite of what we intended — which is, "I will remain healthy."
Let's take another example:
"I do not have enough money."
the statement is based in a "lack" mindset
it overlooks that you do have some money
it excludes the opportunity for gratitude
it excludes the opportunity to ask for what you desire
An alternative to this thought/statement might be:
"I have enough money for many of my needs and am open to receiving more money with deep gratitude."
It's easy to get caught in the flow of nots: "This job is not what I expected; this behavior is not acceptable; this relationship does not fulfill me." When we challenge the 'not', it causes us to examine our true feelings and desires. For example:
"I do not like doing this work."
This 'not' statement challenges us to shift our negative perspective and uncover the deeper truth behind our feelings:
What is it about the work that is unsatisfying?
What can I change about the work to make it more enjoyable?
What kind of work do I desire for myself?
What can I do to take steps in that direction?"
From this introspection, the declaration might then be made:
"I want to work where I feel the joy of my talents being used to make this world a healthier place."
Simply by making that shift in vocabulary, we have concentrated our energy into a more positive, clear and confident channel where the law of attraction can work its magic!
One little word can change your life in a big way!
